Increasing traffic, difficulty in parking, and crowded public transport continuously decrease elders’ ability and willingness to commute or travel to meet friends and family. About 50% of elders in urban India are living on their own, away from their children. The result? Loneliness. This, in turn, adversely impacts their ability to remain socially engaged.
Thus, at this juncture, it is important that both children and parents evaluate the value of a senior living community.
Social engagement
Senior living communities are all about social engagement. A good senior living community is designed with ample open space for group interaction. Further, the daily activity calendar is designed to provide residents with the opportunity to meet and interact with like-minded people and remain mentally, intellectually, and spiritually energised; thereby staying healthy for longer.
Freedom from chores
Senior care communities are a wonderful solution that allows people to focus on the important events in their lives while all the daily chores are taken care of by attentive staff.
Speed and strength
Senior care communities have patented programmes that support residents to achieve their fitness goals continuously. They move better, faster, with higher agility, speed than before. Seniors need not have lessened physical strength and muscular definition.
You can buy services but cannot ensure reliability
The nurse did not turn up! Now, who will take care of the parents?
This is a common scenario in many households. While we are fortunate to get help services at a relatively affordable price, reliability and consistency have always been an issue. It is this gap that senior care communities address by taking over all the responsibilities of the daily chores.
RERA and GST rulings have made it simple
The introduction of the Real Estate Regulation Act (RERA) ensures that the uncertainties that previously plagued a home purchase have now been removed. With stringent norms in place, you can now be sure to get the home you book, on time!
Equally, with the reduction in GST for both premium and affordable housing, senior living homes with larger community space provide great value for money.
