In Part I of How Each Zodiac Sign Would Decorate Their Home, we discussed how your zodiac sign can help you figure out which style fits you the best. In this post, we explore the remaining zodiac signs.
Libra (22 September to 22 October) – Opulent
Librans have a special place for aesthetics in their heart. And it is their home where they show their artistic capabilities and showcase the exquisite taste for everything lush and glamorous. For instance, they buy a traditional piece of home décor and give it a contemporary twist to create an aesthetic balance between both the eras.
When it comes to colours, Librans prefer neutral tones like white, baby pink, and grey. To complement the neutral shades, they add some vibrant shades of blue or jade green. As they love aesthetics, it is natural for them to have an affinity towards antique furniture.
Their living room is not complete without a showcase decorated with medals and other awards they have received and a bookshelf that magnificently displays their intellectual taste.
Indoor plants and flower decorations are favourite home accessories for Librans.
Scorpio (Oct 22 – Nov 21) – Posh
Scorpions prefer darker shades in all colours. Whether its furniture, wallpaper or artwork, a typical Scorpio home would sport intense hues like the shimmering jewel tones of dark emeralds, rich ruby reds, and deep viridian blues.
Plush sofas, velvet chaise longues, delicate curtains, and subdued lighting will be typical features in their home.
For many a Scorpion, their bedroom is their sanctuary, and they spend a lot of time and effort in making it the best room in the house. Think elegant nightstands made of dark wood, soft headboards, silken bedspreads and the like.
Scorpions are high on ‘me time’, and there is nothing better than a dreamy reading nook that they can disappear into. Candles and mood lighting would be the defining characteristics of a true-blue Scorpion home. Bold artworks, accented walls, and quirky collectables would all perfectly belong in a Scorpio home.
Sagittarius (Nov 21 – Dec 21) – Classy
Sagittarius loves stimulating hues like purples, chartreuses, and oranges to match their buzzing minds. That doesn’t mean they like being loud and garish. Muted tones of vivid colours paired with lighter shades like beige and cream are what they would reach out for in furnishings and home décor.
A Sagittarius home is where you will find lush Persian carpets mingling with paintings of Buddhist mandalas, and where rows of bookshelves jostle with unique vintage bric-a-brac.
A true Sagittarius home will be peppered with travel-related items in all corners.
An intricately carved brass box that was picked up at a flea market in Morocco, a painting from a local artist in the villages of Rajasthan, or a small vintage chest would be commonplace in a Sagittarius home.
Their homes are also big on nature with their great love of the outdoors. Incorporating nature into their homes comes easily to them. The Sagittarius love of nature syncs with their bohemian outlook and need for wide-open spaces.
Their homes will usually sport an open plan design with a particular focus on large, airy kitchens.
Capricorn (Dec 21 – Jan 19) – Elegant
Capricorns love dark, vibrant shades of browns, greys, greens, and blues. They enjoy the earthy and ageless decor and the colours they choose, complement their choices in furnishing. Soft browns with a dash of white, moody reds, and blues interspersed with creams are what Capricorns would love in their homes.
They love their homes to make a statement like them. Simple and elegantly artistic architecture in classic styles would be perfect for a typical Capricorn home.
When it comes to the interiors, they are not ones for keeping in tune with the latest trends but are guided by timeless styles. Vintage furniture, classic art, and family heirloom pieces would be standard in a Capricorn home.
People of this sign love their work, and they would not want to be disengaged entirely even while at home. A dedicated study or home office with a sturdy desk of solid oak in the claw-foot style, perhaps complemented by a plush leather armchair would take pride of place.
A Capricorn home would not be complete without large statement pieces. Here’s where a grandfather clock, an antique chest, or big, solid armoires would blend in beautifully.
A display cabinet (or two!) of curios that they lovingly collect would definitely adorn a typical Capricorn living room.
Aquarius (Jan 19 – Feb 19) – Stylish
Aquarius the Water Bearer, unsurprisingly, has an affinity towards turquoise, aquamarine, pale blues and sea greens. They also love silver and other metallics, colours that suit contemporary designs and minimalist decor.
Being free-spirited, Aquarians would never follow trends but would definitely be the trendsetters. The interiors and preferred architectural style are characterised by a fusion of eclectic designs and futuristic pieces of furniture and art that are bound to make a statement.
Space-efficient furniture and storage will be ubiquitous in an Aquarius home. Stylish and functional storage baskets, repurposed wooden crates, loft beds, living planters, and sleek furniture that also double up as storage will be high on an Aquarius’ list.
A game/media room is a must in an Aquarius home, given that they are the most tech-savvy and modern of all the zodiac signs. An Aquarius might be obsessed with technology, but it does not mar their love for art. Abstract and colourful paintings, contemporary graphic art, and modern sculptures adorning many a corner and wall would be a common sight in Aquarius homes.
Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20) – Serene
Pisces love pastels, neutrals, and light, breezy hues. Being a Water sign, they are naturally attracted to shades of blue and green as well as muted colours like tans and greys. However, they also lean towards other pleasing colours like soft yellows, calming whites, baby pinks, gentle lilacs, and so on.
Pisces seek tranquillity in every corner of their homes. Being is a dual sign, they can never stick to a particular style. Instead, the creative Pisces will opt for an eclectic look that incorporates multiple styles to make one of their own, which will be reflected in their home décor.
Being artsy and poetic folk, Pisces would love a whimsical art gallery section. Photography, traditional crafts, and paintings are all works of art that always catch the attention of Pisces. Dedicate a wall or scatter art with eye-catching displays and arrangements through the home.
Continuing with the water theme, a Pisces home would be incomplete without a beautiful bath space.
They love nature and the peace that comes with it. Having a garden, however small, is a must for them as it gives them the solitude that they seek.
Pisces home would do well to have a well-appointed reading corner as they go through books leisurely, savouring the writing and pausing to give the story due thought.
