#HeInspiresMe: Celebrating Father’s Day at RoofandFloor

Father’s Day is just around the corner. It’s a day to celebrate the men in our lives who have raised us, taught us the important life skills, and given us all the love we could ever ask for. At RoofandFloor, we are already feeling the fatherly love and are ready to celebrate.

We present you a few employees of RoofandFloor and their unforgettable memories with their dads. In short, this post is an ode to all the fathers out there.

Thejaswi Udupa, Director and Head of Product

People who have known me long enough know that I read a lot, that I have a very eclectic taste in music with a bias for heavy music, and that I tend to have an endless supply of really horrible jokes. All these characteristics that define me can be directly traced back to Appa.

Fathers Day

My Dad spent most of his professional life as a librarian, which means I ended up with a taste for books very early in life. Same with music. From a generation whose tastes in Western music extends to an Abba or a Boney M at best, our house was full of tapes from a wide variety of artists. I may have overtaken him when it comes to books and music, but when it comes to bad jokes, I still have a long way to go.

Thanuja Senthil, Assistant Manager, Sales

My dad is my hero. I am honoured to be an Ex-Army officer’s daughter. What I appreciate about him is his simplicity, integrity, selflessness, service-minded attitude and approach to work.

Fathers Day

Whatever I am today is the life he bestowed on me. He has always inspired me to be a strong and independent woman.

Jayashree Jayanth, AVP, HR

Appa, you are a giant among pygmies and my first life hero. You have been a protective father and strict with your rules. I have enjoyed your flair for travel, playing cards, and emphasis on family time. From Rummy to Jack of Clubs to Bridge – you taught me all the card games.

Fathers Day
Everything in my life would be meaningless if I didn’t have precious childhood memories to anchor myself to. So, thank you for enriching my life with your love, care, and wisdom.

Saravanan, Deputy Manager, Field Sales

My dad is my best friend. I look up to him for all the big life decisions. He is a hard-working man with a great sense of humour.

Fathers Day

Even though we have had the nastiest of arguments, I will cherish every moment. Because despite the battles and the drama, his love has always driven away my life’s dilemmas.

Ganesa Murthi, Head of Operations and Customer Experience

While growing up, movies used to be the only distraction I had. During my school days, my dad never showed any interest in movies. However, I had heard stories of him going on movie-hopping and watching four shows in a day before heading back home for a vacation!

Fathers Day

In 2003, my brother completed his engineering course and moved out of my parents’ place. That’s when my dad started binge watching movies. He started collecting DVDs of the movies of his favourite actors. He had been holding back on his passion just to protect us from getting distracted by movies. Even today he watches at least one movie a day.

He is a man of few words and a firm resolve. I hope I can be as strong as him in my lifetime.

Here’s wishing everyone out there a Happy Father’s Day!
