Revised Property Guidelines Fuel Tamil Nadu’s Registration Revenue 

The latest revised Property Guidelines have ushered in an extra 1,222 crore received in the first seven months of the current financial year compared to the preceding year. 

The Tamil Nadu Government has greatly improved its revenue from the state’s registration department for properties.

Registration Department Records Significant Growth Due to Revised Property Guidelines: 

According to representatives from the registration department, the total revenue from April to October in the year 2023-2024 was 10,511 crore.  

At the same time, the total value of the market increased by 11,733 crore from 2024 to 2025. 

This information was presented during a review meeting that was presided over by P. Moorthy, who is the minister of tax and registration. 

To accelerate the distribution of certificates and permits through the online portal. 

The minister instructed staff to ensure that registered papers are expedited quickly for applicants without any delay. 

This was implemented to streamline the registration procedure and to prioritize the delivery of these documents. 

The registration department also announced extra token distribution on Nov 14th and 15th to meet the expected demand during Aippasi month. 

Over the course of these dates, registration offices that had one sub-registrar distributed 150 tokens rather than the customary 100 tokens. 

Offices that had two sub-registrars distributed 300 tokens. 

And high-demand offices boosted their token distribution from 100 to 150 tokens to provide applicants with a more streamlined experience during these hectic days.
