The Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase 2 Project was proposed and approved by the Telangana government in January 2024. Its goal is to build new metro lines and extend the city’s current ones in order to improve public transportation in the area. Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 Project Insights

The upcoming Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 will include seven corridors, covering a distance of 70 km. In Phase 2 of the project, the following new routes are proposed:

Corridor 2– This line will run from MGBS to Falaknuma via the Old City. It is known as the Green Line extension and will cover a distance of 5.5 km.

Corridor 4– This line will run from Nagole Metro Station to LB Nagar Metro Station, which connects to Mailardevpally Junction, Shamshabad Airport, Chandrayangutta Cross Road, and P7 Road. It is known as the Blue Line Extension and covers a distance of 29 km.
Corridor 4– This line will run from Mailardevpally to the New High Court at Rajendra Nagar via Aramgarh. This is known as the Blue Line extension and will cover a distance of 4 km.
Corridor 5– This line will run from Raidurg to the American Consulate (Financial District) via the Biodervisity Junction, Nanakramguda Junction, and Wipro Junction. This is known as the Blue Line extension and will cover a distance of 8 km.
Corridor 6– This line will run from Miyapur to Patancheruvu via BHEL. This is known as the Red Line extension and will cover a distance of 14 km.
Corridor 7– This line will run from LB Nagar to Hayathnagar via Vansthalipuram. This is known as the Red Line extension and will cover a distance of 8 km.
