Enjoy The Fun of Practicing Skating Inside the Home with A House Designed for This Sport

One of the biggest challenges faced by people who love skating is to find the right place to practice their sport near their home. Unlike most other sports, which can be practised by the players either at home or within their neighbourhood, skaters need to go to one of the several skating rings, which are often located at some distance from the residential areas. It is perhaps the need to overcome this problem that inspired the former professional skateboarder Pierre-André Senizergues to build a house in which every surface can be used for skateboard practice as well as a regular residential unit.

Pierre-André Senizergues, who is often referred to as the “super rich skateboarding God”, was a world-class professional during the 80’s and has some serious skating credits to his name. He is also the owner of multiple sportswear brands and is the man responsible for designing the Skateboard House project. The project involved development of a private residence in Malibu, California, in which every almost surface is skate able. The prototype of the project was created in 2011 while the house itself was completed in 2012.

The house, which has also become famous by the name of PAS house, is designed like an indoor playground that doubles up as a regular home.  The house is constructed in such a manner that all the surfaces are continuous, which essentially means that there is no distinction of ground, walls and ceiling, all of which form a part of a tube having a radius of 10 ft. What’s more, even the surfaces of the furniture placed inside the house is skate bale as it is designed to act as an integral part of the smoothly curved surface of the home.

It is divided into three sections, with the first section comprising of a living room, dining area and kitchen. The second section features a bedroom and a bathroom, while the third section is dedicated exclusively for skating practice. The house helps to realize the most cherished dream of countless skateboarders across the globe, nearly that of bringing their practice sessions right into their homes.
