Step 2: Calculation of stamp duty and registration charges

The next step is to visit the website mentioned above to calculate the stamp duty and registration charges for your property. For this, you would need to know the sub-registrar’s office closest to your property. You would also need to fill in details regarding your property, i.e., the type of property, plinth area, area of parking, the person to whom the sale is being made (male or female or both) and consideration amount for the property.

Step 3: Getting a stamp paper of the required value

Visit the website of Stock Holding Corporation of India and buy the stamp paper of required denomination.

In this website, click on the e-Registration tab. e-Registration fees collection system is a secure electronic way of collecting registration fees along with the other charges and payment mechanism to the state government. This is enabled for payment of registration fee in respect of Sale Deed, Conveyance Deed, Release Deed, Relinquishment Deed, and Partition Deed for the state of Delhi.

Step 4: Obtaining an appointment with the sub-registrar

Visit the website mentioned above to obtain an appointment with the sub-registrar under whose jurisdiction your property falls by selecting the right one from the drop-down menu. The e-stamp number purchased by you will need to be mentioned here for verification.

The list of documents that need to be submitted for registration is mentioned on the site. Once you click on the Button – Are all the mentioned documents READY as Yes, you are directed to the next page where you would need to key in your e-stamp paper number for verification.

Step 5: Visiting the sub-registrar’s office for registration

You would need to visit the sub-registrar’s office on the designated date and time along with the appointment SMS that you have received. You could present your documents at the facilitation counter. After the registration process, a receipt for the same must be collected.
