Bring out the books
If you are a book-lover, you don’t need to spend thousands on buying pricier accessories. A stack of books is a nice space-filler and adds the needed colour and elegance to your living room. The fact that they are almost always readily available close at hand is an added bonus.
If you have stairs in the living room, space underneath is great for placing a bookcase. You can use a combination of CD towers and bookcases to make the needed book-storing furniture without being a spendthrift.
Bare the living room
Pare down everything from the living room! Remove the curtains, the accessories, the photo frames, the side table and anything else placed in the living room to make it bare and unfurnished.
