Tambaram is a bustling suburb located in Chennai Metropolitan City and it comes under the Kanchipuram district. Due to its excellent connectivity to the IT corridors such as OMR – Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Oragadam, Sriperumbudur and Mahindra World City, It is very much sought after by the IT sector population. Historical Significance
The name Tambaram seems to be a derivation from the word Taampuram which in turn is derived from the word Taamapuram which was the name of a waterbody. Manimangalam is famous as this was the place where the historic battle between Chalukyas and Pallavas was fought. Guduvanchery has many sites where people were buried in earthen pots 2000 years ago. Stone tools used several thousands of years ago have been found in Pallavaram.

Development projects such as direct trains between Tambaram and Arakkonam proposed Skywalk across Grand Southern Trunk Road near station and creation of multi-level parking in West Tambaram are underway and will definitely add value to this area.
