Women's Day

#SheInspiresMe: Celebrating Women at RoofandFloor

International Women’s Day celebrates the economic, social, and political achievements of women around the world.

At RoofandFloor, we believe that women should be honoured for their strengths, weaknesses, aspirations, and fears.

To honour the spirit of the day, we present you the stories of a few leading women who are shaping RoofandFloor into the homebuyer’s portal of choice.

“Do what you like and never give up on your spirit” – Sudha Pradeep

I come from an orthodox family with a lot of interest in classical music and dance. I owe all my achievements to the two men in my life – my father and my husband. Both of them have been extremely supportive.

In fact, I resumed my dance classes last year with my husband’s support. Not to mention, my mother and daughter who teach me something new every day.

I started my professional journey as a developer and then moved into the world of customer experience, which is what I handle at RoofandFloor.

It is an intriguing workplace, especially for a woman to explore and excel. Resilience is something I love about the organisation, and I have been fortunate to have the best mentors here.

Sudha Pradeep heads chat support in RoofandFloor. The two treasures that make her life complete are her kids- Sahana and Thejas. We celebrate her spirit of motherhood!

“The journey so far has been interesting and challenging” – Jayashree Jayanth

I was born in Halwara, Punjab. My father was a doctor in the Air Force. Thus, my childhood is reminiscent of travel to various locations by car, playing cards, and lazing around with novels.

My professional career in HR began in the year 2000 when I joined Ma Foi Management Consultants, Bangalore. I have a strong background in recruitment and over 15 years of experience in Human Resources across India and the Middle East.

I joined RoofandFloor in April 2017 and am thoroughly enjoying every moment here. I believe my role is to build the human capital by instilling our values and sense of belonging and ownership to the employees.

Jayashree Jayant is Associate Vice President-Human Resources in RoofandFloor. A fitness enthusiast and an animal lover, you are most likely to catch her playing with her pet cocker spaniel in her free time.

“The greatest hurdle for any woman is herself” – Geetha Raj

I stepped into RoofandFloor in August 2017. Though I had over a decade of experience, I was a little anxious on my first day.

However, over the past six months, I have been able to adapt to the working style of RAF very easily. I owe it to the culture here – transparent, inclusive, and embracing. Dissipating information is encouraged. Delegation is applauded. The place is all for ‘no closed doors’ philosophy.

The same thought applies to how women employees are treated. We have a more than a healthy ratio of women to men here. We have women across all levels of management, in all departments, and teams. Having worked across multiple agencies and client teams before, I can say that this is very rare.

The greatest hurdle for any woman is herself. I believe we are all in a great place. What we make out of it, is up to us.

An MBA graduate from Cochin University, Geetha is a Senior Manager – Brand and PR. She is also a poetry and creative enthusiast and has a personal blog.

“Celebrate your strengths and overcome your weaknesses” – Vani G

Born and brought up in Bangalore, I am a true Bangalorean at heart. Before I joined RoofandFloor, I was associated with companies like DTDC Express Limited, Ascent Consultants Limited, and BPL Limited. So, this is my first stint with a start-up. At first, I was a bit nervous, but with the support of my colleagues, it already feels like family here.

The best part about working here is the interaction with a great team of young and highly motivated people.

Being a woman is not a cakewalk as we have various roles to play. But with a straight mind and a no-frills attitude, nothing is difficult to conquer!

This International Women’s Day, let us celebrate our strengths and overcome our weaknesses!

Vani leads the finance functions of RoofandFloor as a Senior Manager. She brings with her over 17 years of rich experience in finance and accounts. When not at work, Vani enjoys reading and listening to music.
