Another 13 cities have been selected in the Fast Track Smart City Competition – now these cities can compete to be a ‘Smart City’. Union Minster Venkaiah Naidu made the announcement.
The 13 cities include:
- Lucknow
- Warangal
- Panaji
- Dharamsala
- Chandigarh
- Raipur
- New Town Kolkata
- Bhagalpur
- Port Blair
- Imphal
- Ranchi
- Agartala
- Faridabad
In ‘Smart City Challenge Competition’ announced on January 28, only 12 states and union territories were represented in the first list of 20 smart cities. Under the Smart City Mission, 100 cities will be developed as smart cities by 2019-20 with the Indian Government contributing about Rs 48,000 crore over five years.
