RoofandFloor and The Hindu Group Announce the Great Indian Home Sale

Top properties in Chennai and Bangalore feature in 5-day real estate festival

Chennai, November 27, 2017

RoofandFloor, in partnership with Property Plus of The Hindu Group, today announced the launch of ‘The Great Indian Home Sale’ or GIHS to lure the Indian homebuyer. GIHS, which has a unique ‘Bid Your Price’ model, will run from 29 November to 3 December and will feature more than 100 properties from top builders in Chennai and Bangalore.

Key highlights of the Great Indian Home Sale: GIHS has on sale more than 100 residential apartments, starting from 1,000 sq.ft, from 40 of the best builders, including the Concorde Group, Akshaya Homes, BBCL, Mantri Developers, Jains Housing, Brigade, Alliance Housing among others. A registered participant on GIHS stands to win exclusive discounts and deals on these apartments. Unlike other home buying festivals of the past, GIHS allows homebuyers to bid on the properties they love. To participate in GIHS, users can register for free, and then place up to 3 bids on a property, for a nominal fee of Rs 999 (all inclusive).

Commenting on GIHS, Mr. Rajiv Lochan, Managing Director and CEO of The Hindu Group, said that the mela targets the genuine Indian homebuyer who would be keen to close deals on a home before the end of the year. “This event will be a boost for the real estate industry in India, and showcase the possibilities for the future of the real estate in the country by simplifying the steps taken while buying a home.”

“GIHS is a unique one-of-its-kind event in India that offers the excitement of bidding for your property at your price. Through this mela we want to create an unforgettable and rewarding experience for homebuyers. GIHS brings together the homebuyer and builder on one platform – and shows that RoofandFloor is committed to changing the way India buys homes,” said Gowri Shankar, CEO and Co-Founder of RoofandFloor.

The registration to GIHS is already open and the bidding period runs from 29 November to 3 December. There is no limit on the number of times a bid can be revised, and the registration amount will be refunded in full if the bids are rejected. Winning bids will be selected by the builders, and homebuyers have up to 15 days post the end of GIHS to close the deal on their new home.

Commenting on GIHS, Mr. Ravi, the CMO of Concorde Group said, “Our main focus in this event is the Indian homebuyer. We are excited to offer the best of our properties for GIHS, and believe that events like these will attract homebuyers who may have been confused about buying a home post RERA and GST.”

Mr. Mehul Doshi, the Director of Doshi Housing, added that, “Doshi Housing is excited about being a part of GIHS because showcasing our properties to genuine homebuyers will result in a win-win situation for both the developer and the homebuyer.”
