Vaastu Series: How to Decorate Your Home if You’re a Scorpio

If there is one word that’s associated with a Scorpio, it’s mystery. Scorpions are famously enigmatic with dark undertones, which is part of their charm. They can easily switch between being the cynosure of all eyes at a party and the silent observer in a corner and still attract attention with their magnetism. Here are our top home decor tips for Scorpions (Oct 21 – Nov 21).

Key traits that define a Scorpio: Powerful, mysterious, sensual, intense

Colours

Given these defining traits of a Scorpio, it’s only natural that they like the darker shades in all colours. Whether it’s furniture, wallpaper or artwork, a typical Scorpio home would sport intense hues like the shimmering jewel tones of dark emeralds, rich ruby reds, and deep viridian blues.

Style and decor

Being cypher-like, Scorpions fiercely guard their privacy, and this is reflected in the little nooks and deep corners that will dot their homes. Tastefully designed, and sumptuously furnished, Scorpio homes don’t lack in spaciousness or comfort either as they love well-appointed and luxurious rooms.

Plush sofas, velvet chaise longues, delicate curtains, and subdued lighting will be typical features in a Scorpio home.

Must-have interiors for a Scorpio home

For many a Scorpion, their bedroom is their sanctuary, and they spend a lot of time and effort in making it the best room in the house. Think elegant nightstands made of dark wood, soft headboards, silken bedspreads and the like.

Since privacy and intimacy are of utmost importance, a Scorpion bedroom will most likely have blackout curtains, and the attached balcony, if there is one, will be fitted with perfectly matching Venetian blinds or bamboo screens. Classic canopy beds featuring sheer drapes or antique light fittings that accentuate a perfect sensual atmosphere would also be significantly favoured.

Scorpions are high on ‘me time’, and there is nothing better than a dreamy reading nook that they can disappear into. Paint a corner red, put in a swing chair kitted out with little soft pillows, and round it off with a footstool. Add a small table on one side to keep a cup of ristretto on, and a contemporary-design bookshelf on the other, and Scorpions have found their heaven!

Candles and mood lighting would be the defining characteristics of a true-blue Scorpion home. Tall pillar candles lighting up a couple of corners of the living room complimented by subtle lighting with wall sconces, small scented tea candles on the balcony or in the bedroom be perfect for a typical Scorpio home.

Scorpions have assertive and very self-assured personalities, and statement pieces would not be exceptionally out of place in their homes. Bold artworks, accented walls, and quirky collectables would all perfectly belong in a Scorpio home.
