Dropbox: Keep all your property files at one place

Dropbox is a free service that allows us to bring all our photos, documents and videos everywhere with us. Any file saved on to Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers and phones. “Your life’s work, wherever you are” – that’s Dropbox.

Why Dropbox for real estate?

Dropbox helps you sync and share files – an easier and reliable way to share data. As a home buyer, you would be visiting some sites and some ready-to-occupy homes. With Dropbox, you can arrange all information regarding a particular property like contracts, property documents, rates of interest, any discounts applicable and any other correspondence, in its own folder accessible to you at all times. You can store images, videos and your comments/observations at the time about each property in Dropbox folders. You can also edit your documents online. This ensures that you have all the relevant information, literally, at your fingertips.

Along with 2-16 GB of free storage space, Dropbox also keeps a version of deleted files so that you can easily recover them if required.

Features:

  • Easy interface between the application and user.
  • Take your documents anywhere and access them at any timeat any place.
  • Share videos quickly.
  • You can work on slides together in a team.
  • Edit Microsoft office files online even from your phone or tablet.

Verdict:

We often underestimate the need to keep all relevant information together. Keeping all data together can help with quick decision making and without the fear of having misplaced critical information about any property. It takes a little effort to get used to Dropbox but once you are comfortable, it is no doubt a great data storing and sharing tool.

Dropbox was founded in 2007, by MIT students Arash Ferdowsi and Drew Houston.
