The Best Days to Plan Your Housewarming Ceremony in 2019

The new year has already dawned and, no doubt, many of us will be looking forward with eager anticipation to move into our brand new house. Following tradition this will be preceded by the housewarming ceremony to invite all the elements in, that will make your house a home. Here, we give you the most auspicious general times in 2019 to do just that.

January (Magh/Makaram)

While there are no auspicious days available in January, homeowners are encouraged to engage in charitable work during Sankranti, which falls on January 15.

February (Falghun/Kumbham)

February has a few good dates with one of the best being Vasant Panchami, which falls on February 10. Some other auspicious dates are 9, 14, 15, 21, and 23.

March (Chaitra/Meenam)

March too has a few good days before and after Holi, which falls on March 21. However, Holastak, a duration of eight days before Holi should be avoided. The following are some other auspicious dates in March – 2, 7-9, 13, 22, 25, and 29.

April (Baisakh/Mesha)

April is noted for Gudi Padwa, which is celebrated in general as the Hindu new year. This is considered a very blessed time to shift to a new home. Gudi Padwa falls on April 6, which is the only auspicious day in April.

May (Jyestha/Vrishabha)

The first few days of May is considered to be the luckiest in the month and brings prosperity. Some other auspicious dates are 6, 16, 23, 29, and 30.

June (Ashadh/Mithuna)

Ashadh is generally considered to be highly inauspicious and falls in the latter half of the month. Housewarming ceremonies are, therefore, fixed for only the first half of June. Here are the auspicious dates in June – 12, 15, 19, and 20.

July (Shravan/Karka), August (Bhadrapad/Singh), September (Ashwin/Kanya)

The three months following June are not suitable for engaging in any life-changing activities including housewarming as it is believed to have negative energies resulting in losses or illness.

October (Ashwin/Tula)

The bad times begin to clear in October, and the only auspicious day is October 30 that falls close to Diwali, which is on October 27.

November (Kartik/Vrishchika)

November is the best month of the year for housewarming ceremonies, and there are multiple dates for planning your move. Here are the auspicious dates in November – 2, 9, 13-15, 21-22, and 30.

December (Paush/Dhanu)

If you plan to move into your new home in December, consider doing so in the first few days of the month. Here are the auspicious dates in December – 6, 7, and 12.
