Introduction
Old Madras Road is part of the NH-4 connecting Bangalore to Kolar, Chittoor and Chennai. The locality around the road was developed when the Tin Factory and NGEF (New Government Electrical Factory) were first established. Since then, the locality has grown by leaps and bounds, and it is now home to many IT parks and high rises.

The NGEF located in Old Madras Road was one of the first Indian companies to be set up with German collaboration. It built parts for the Central and Western Railways, including those used on the Kolkata Metro Line 1.

The major bus stop is near the cable bridge at K.R. Puram, with buses to all major addresses in the city making a stop here. The satellite bus stand at Byapannahalli is also an important transit point for those who use public transport. The closest railway stations are at K. R. Puram and Byapannahalli, while the Metro line from Byapannahalli connects Old Madras Road to Halasur and Vivekananda Nagar.
The Bangalore International Airport is about 40 kilometres away.
